Dive Operator Review      Name:  Kona Honu Divers  Location:  Kona, Hawaii  Date Reviewed:  August 2007  Reviewed By:  Jay Canfield, Tropical Breeze Productions  Overall Rating:      Living in Southern California we have an annual event each June called the "Scuba Show of Long Beach", which is a 2 day convention for divers, vendors, operators and manufacturers to showcase their products and services. At the June 2007 show, I had the opportunity to meet some of the staff at Kona Honu Divers who were there promoting their dive operation in Kona.  As it turns out we had a planned vacation for Kona in August but hadn't decided on what operator we were going to use.  We have dove Kona many times and have had really good experiences with other operators in the past but the presentation they put on at the Scuba Show made us want to try them...and we are glad we did. Reservation staff was very helpful and upon arriving on the island they made the check-in process very easy.  Kona Honu Divers are very customer service orientated and go above and beyond to make your diving experience rewarding and enjoyable. The staff on the boats were courteous, friendly and informative.  Dive site briefings were detailed and accurate and the dive guides were phenomenal. In addition to the regular day dives, we also booked the famous Manta Night Dive with them as well.  We have done this dive every time we have gone to Kona, but I have to say Kona Honu Divers does a superior job setting up for this special night dive and it was by far the best Manta night dive I have ever been on while in Kona. I would highly recommend this dive operator to any diver visiting the Big Island, we will be using them exclusively each and every time we come back.
