The diving in Oahu offers the
typical lava tubes and canyons you find throughout the Hawaiian
Islands. Fish life is abundant along the reefs and occasionally
you can see a Manta Ray passing by.
There are a few wrecks to dive on the
leeward side of the island, including a WWII Minelayer called
the "Mahi" that rests in about 95 feet of water.
With Oahu being one of the more commercialized and populated of
the Islands there are plenty of dive shops to pick from.
My experience with Aaron's Dive Shop was not the most favorable
of my diving career.
When I arrived on the Island, Aaron's Dive Shop had no record of
dates I had pre-booked with them and their attitude they
presented was they would be doing me a favor if they could
squeeze me in.
Pickups at the hotel were never on time and the dive staff
seemed pretty uninterested in their customers or their diving
excursions. There never was much of a dive site briefing
on any of the dives that I recall.
Overall the diving in Oahu is not bad, however from my
experience with Aaron's Dive Shop I can only give them a 1 Dive
Flag Rating. If you plan on diving on Oahu, my suggestion
is look for another dive shop. |
